I said "maybe" and he said that in order to become a Gentoo Developer I had to submit a couple of ebuilds to demonstrate my "worthiness". How about 300+ ebuilds? ;-) I wrote a script that receives the information needed from the PEAR WebService and creates ebuilds for the current stable/unstable versions of all PEAR/PECL packages. The script can be found at http://www.sebastian-bergmann.de/stuff/pear-ebuilds.phps Currently the script is at a "proof-of-concept" level and the result of a 10 minute hack. The 'template' file it needs isn't around (it doesn't seem to be in that directory). If you could roll this into something like g-cpan.pl, it would go a long way. The general policy for CPAN and PEAR packages is that we don't want to pollute the tree with adding them until they are needed by another package. That said, I've broken that rule a few times myself when I wanted a package in Gentoo so I could easily deploy some custom software to many Gentoo machines (which is being donated to open-source soon ;-). -- Robin Hugh Johnson E-Mail : robbat2@orbis-terrarum.net Home Page : http://www.orbis-terrarum.net/?l=people.robbat2 ICQ# : 30269588 or 41961639 GnuPG FP : 11AC BA4F 4778 E3F6 E4ED F38E B27B 944E 3488 4E85 [-- Attachment #2: Type: application/pgp-signature, Size: 232 bytes --] ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 11+ messages in thread

The best way of handling iso images IMHO, is to burn the image itself onto a disc. So the DVD you receive would only have two files, the iso image and the signed MD5Sum. > On Sunday 29 August 2004 09:43 pm, Philip Charles wrote: > > On Mon, 30 Aug 2004, Stefan Knoblich wrote: > > > Am Sonntag, 29.
