My original intention for the srvdir USE flag was to cope with these two situations: a) Apps that have compile-time paths that can't be overridden w/ runtime configuration b) Apps that have runtime configuration, which we could setup to work with /srv out of the box. I don't believe that it's practical to specify a layout for /srv that fits everyone. I use /srv// on some of the boxes I look after, but some of them run /srv/// instead.
