Subject: [gentoo-dev] evolution?
Date: Wed Sep 19 11:42:02 2001 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <Pine.SOL.3.91.1010919133635.29077A-100000@travelers.mail.cornell.edu> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <E15jkw9-0002q5-00@cvs.gentoo.org>
I've been wanting to try ximian evolution for some time now, but every
time I try to build a new beta, or new snapshot, something goes wrong.
Currently, wombat segfaults on every startup, causing evolution to
report: Cannot initialize the Ximian Evolution shell: Configuration
Database not found.
Is anyone else haveing this problem? I cannot find the bug on
bugs.ximian.com, so I think this might be something funny about the
gentoo setup. gdb can backtrace all the way to getpwuid_r() from
libc.so.6, but then has no debugging info after that. Does anyone know if
there is a problem with libc itself? should I upgrade to a newer libc6?
(I'm currently running sys-libs/glibc-2.2.3-r2, which is what was
installed with rc-5)
thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
