Hi,

Sorry for the last message. I'll give up gpg for now :(

This is the error when emerging qt-3.0.4-r1. Is it a known one? Shall we
mask this ebuild? BTW, this is on a x86.

There was a bug just like this that appeared earlier in the year. See bug
#2387 for more info.

IIRC, the problem was that 'emerge clean' removed the symlink, rather than
something else. I tried to track this bug down, but didn't get any results.
The bug is marked as 'RESOLVED', but the only resolution seemed to be 'emerge
libcms'. :)

People have been reporting this all over. The problem is with the lcms
package, not with qt. For some reason the /usr/lib/liblcms.so.1 ->
liblcms.so.1.0.8 symlink is missing on some systems. Remerging lcms *should*
solve the problem. If it doesn't, please report a bug about lcms (or look for
an already reported one that probably exists).

Could this be an effect of one of those global libtool/whatever problems?

Without knowing exactly what's going on, could this be an artifact
of not having run ldconfig?

Hm. I know ldconfig is supposed to regenerate those symlinks. OTOH I tried
removing the liblcms.so.1 symlink, and running ldconfig didn't recreate it.
In any case emerge runs ldconfig all the time, so it can't be missing, can
it?

You probably mean emerge lcms right ?
