Check out the -jp6 kernel tree. It has both XFS, grsecurity, pre-emptive
patch and many more performance enhancing patches for 2.4.18.

Actually, looks like he's come out with jp7 now.
It's found at: http://infolinux.de/jp7/

jp7 is based on 2.4.19-pre2

For those that haven't heard of it, check out these links:
http://lwn.net/2002/0307/a/2.4.18-jp6.php3
http://infolinux.de/jp7/README

Changes since jp6:

2.4.19pre2 - standard kernel (Marcelo Tosatti)
alsa - backport of 2.5.4 Advanced Linux Sound Architecture to 2.4.19pre2
(Jörg Prante)
rmap12g - supersedes rmap12f (Rik van Riel)
preempt - preempt UP fix (Robert Love)
supermount - stable supermount for 2.4 (Juan Jose Quintela)
xfs - CVS status as of 7 March 2002, now with quota (XFS team)
crypto - cryptographic API for 2.4.18 (Herbert Valerio Riedel)
grsecurity 1.9.4 - release version of the best security patch set (Brad
Spengler)
secfix - security fix, prevents process kills by local users (Brad
Spengler)
sdmany - many SCSI devices (Richard Gooch)
