I know someone said that they were working on a grsecurity patch for
2.4.18. I was just wondering how it was coming along and if it was
usuable. If so, can I get a copy cause I'm looking to put a little more
security in my machine.

I would wait until 2.4.18 was unmasked in Gentoo (stable).

If you take a standard 2.4.18 kernel and use the -jp6 patches they contain
both performance enhancing patches like the premptive patch and security
pathches like grsecurity. All optional at compile time of course.
