Thanks for the report! Fortunately it didn't install, so your
system should be just fine. Just erase the ebuild on your system,
if you would. I've also added an entry to package.mask so that
nobody else should run into this problem.

Sorry about that!

Erm... did you edit your package.mask? Hmmm... maybe you synced up as I
was yanking that version from cvs and removing its entry from
package.mask?

pam-0.75-r3 was yanked from cvs last night, so do an rsync or cvs update
:)

before the update I did an rsync. My package.mask is editted but I did not
touch the pam line :)

Isn't package.mask overwritten every 'emerge rsync'?

by the way, gentoo is a wonderful peace of work! It is the only OS on my
computer. Exit debian and w2k.

I believe so. What I do is make a patch of the changes I want to make to
package.mask, that way I can still get all of Gentoo's package.mask
updates via emerge rsync (well I type emerge --clean rsync) then I patch
it to comment out the packages I do want (aka glibc 2.2.5)

If you've never made a patch and need help, let me know.
