[gentoo-dev] install questions are OT for this list

Ok,

Over a dozen install related questions to the development list
is unacceptable.  Our developers would like to use this m/l
for development related issues, NOT user related issues.

No offense, but please stop posting user related questions
to this mailing list, use gentoo-user instead.

As someone allready noticed on the list, user questions are directed to
gentoo-dev@gentoo.org on the website, might be a cause. But I do agree
with you

so where am i to post question and comments, -dev or -users.  Web site says here but now there are complaints. looking at the history of this post there have been many install posts in the last few months.  mybe the sight needs updated?

You might consider making gentoo-dev limited to submissions from
subscribed email addresses and possibly not promoting the mailing list
with as much visiblity as the gentoo-user list.  Possibly just a note
mentioning what the expected scope of conversation is for the list.
This will tend to deter users from the dev list while possibly
suggesting to future developers that they think before posting to the
list.  In fact, bugs issues and concerns should probably escalate
through the user list first.
