I like the whole gestalt of gentoo. Your distro is doing a lot of things right. I want to help. And I want to use. I want a light fast distro that I can use for server deployment without a lot of hassles. And getoo looks like it is going there. I tried to use ebuild to get a portage back on my system. portage > ebuild portage-1.4-r15.ebuild merge /usr/bin/ebuild: import-settings: command not found /usr/bin/ebuild: import-configsettings: command not found Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/pkgname", line 3, in ? import portage File "/usr/lib/python2.0/portage.py", line 1757, in ? Exiting. is there a tar.gz I can use get my system back into a KGS (known good state) ? I don't really know the directory hierarchy that well. Sean.
