Subject: [gentoo-dev] TeX ebuild BUG: missing tex.fmt, latex.fmt, pdflatex.fmt (fwd)
Date: Sat, 4 Jan 2003 03:09:55 -0500 (EST) [thread overview]
Message-ID: <Pine.GSO.4.44.0301040309300.6445-100000@yuma.Princeton.EDU> (raw)
Hi,
After building tetex 1.0.7-r11, using commands such as tex, latex,
pdflatex, etc, result in output "I can't find the file 'tex.fmt'" or
'latex.fmt' or 'pdflatex.fmt'...
The resolution for this is to execute
fmtutil --byfmt=tex
fmtutil --byfmt=latex
fmtutil --byfmt=pdflatex
For some reason, I never ran into this problem with previous versions of
TeX ebuild. Maybe there's a typo or something in this ebuild. I don't
have time to go thru it. Just wanted to bring this to the attn of the
developers.
Should this be submitted as a bug?
Thanks,
Denis
