Hello,
I was just looking though the emerge man page and noticed that the
--deep flag is not mentioned anywhere, nor is it noted in "emerge
--help". Any reason why this has been removed?

Actually it wasn't removed at all, it just wasn't there. sunflare added it in CVS.
