Well, to be fair that FAQ is getting a little threadbare.

Both lists seem to be getting a lot of repeated questions which aren't
addressed in the current FAQ. If someone wants to spend time contributing
then maybe that would cut down the volume on the lists.

Indeed.

How do 'we' contribute to the FAQ, I know I could send the XML to
bugzilla, but I everybody sends a new XML there will be a *lot* of
work for he who chooses to update the 'real' FAQ.

Or just maybe certain persons have CVS access to that file and maybe
one of theese would accept updates. That's better than he has to
extract all updated from the various lists, no?

Just a thought.

Good to see people wishing to spend their time on docs :-), no really!
Originally I was thinking in terms of individual submissions to bugzilla
listing that or other question which should be included in FAQ.
However since there seems to be quite a few people interested in getting
this done I suppose some coordination can help.

Hereby I announce a call for FAQ submissions.
Shortly I will submit a bug to bugs.gentoo.org and announce its number
here. Bugzilla is a nice place to collect independent submissions IMHO, as
it provides a minimalistic forum-like functionality. Please submit your
Qs&As there. Somebogy, who will volonteer will combine the
question into single <xml> file and will [try to] keep it up to date with
new submissions (quite likely that would be me,
unless somebody has an itch for editorial work :-). I willl wait few days and 
then assume this role if there are no volonteers). Regular builds of this 
file (2-3 day period in the beginning makes sense) will get attached to the 
same bug for an easy incorporation into existing documents.

Call for FAQ submissions.
(other docs are appreciated as well, but please use/create appropriate 
threads (and subjects)).

For the procedure.
Please send in your submissions to this mailing list, please follow this 
thread or at least the topic ("FAQ submissions"). I will be collecting them 
processing and submitting to CVS (the site will get updated soon thereafter).

Please do not use HTML. Instead please use plain text or xml tags described 
here:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/xml-guide.html

Please check the document to which you are sending your update often, it may 
get updated while you were thinking to put this cool question in.

[gentoo-dev] Issue with the gentoo.org website?

I'm getting a wierd issue on my laptop, but I cannot reproduce it anywhere else.  Even with the same OS (Windows 2000 Server) and same version of IE.	

Index page : http://www.gentoo.org/

The following text floats over the red gentoo image under IE 5.5 at 1024x768:

"Gentoo Linux is a high-performance ports-based Linux 
metadistribution for x86-based systems. To learn more, click here."

Come monday morning we may get slashdotted, so I'd like to know if anyone else can reproduce this issue.
