Hi,

Just a question : can one use the preemptive kernel patch and the low
latency patch
of Andrew Morton together or is the preemptive better than the other one.

TIA
Erik

They should work together. I just applied the scheduling latency patch to my
preemptive 2.4.10 sources, and I got no rejects. They should complement each
other, if I understand it correctly. However, I haven't tested the kernel yet,
but I will this afternoon. If they work together, this will be one hot kernel.

Best Regards,

The low latency patches and the preempt patches work great together. I'll roll
these into 2.4.10-r2 and have it on rsync within minutes (I hope :).

Just a thaught,
i think this preemtive thingy should be advertised a little bit more at the Gentoo site, because
	1) Not too many ppl heurd about it (*)
	2) it is so great feature ,
	3) virtually no other distro ppl even know it's existence (u can correct me )
	so from (*)
ppl will be impressed twice, and that will make it a really out of the common Linux distro !

peace and grutz
