Not necessary. Just make sure you have access to a kernel with loopback
device support, and mount up the iso, thusly:
mount -t iso9660 -o loop /path/to/build_1.0_rc9.iso /mnt/gentoo_cd
Then you will find the tbz2 file in /mnt/gentoo_cd

Can't you just mount the iso image via the loop device?

Hi Dan,
I believe that the rc6-r9 ISO has got the rc6-r7 tbz2 file inside... so if
you don't want to boot from CD,
just download the r7 tbz2 file...
Cheers,
Richard.

Hello all,
Would it be possible to post non-iso versions of rc9 for our cdburning
impaired users (me!).
Thanks

The -1.0_rc6-r9 CD has the -r7 build image on it. Just grab the -r7 build
image.
