Hi!
Quick comment on abiword-0.9.3 (this was also true for earlier versions)
Abiword fails to start up with a "AbiWord could not load the following font or
fontset from the X Window System display server, [-*-Times New
Roman-regular-r-*-*-*-0-*-*-*-*-*-*]" error.
This can be fixed by adding a ' Load "type1" ' line in the modules section of
/etc/X11/XF86Config
Don't know the best way to handle that in the ebuild though.

The AbiWord ebuild should definitely not modify the XF86Config file.
However, if xdpyinfo can be used, the installation process should issue a
warning when it doesn't find Type1 support in the running X server
(it should perhaps also come with a warning if it doesn't find the X
server running, and tell the user to check for Type1 support manually)..
