I have been installing Gentoo. The instructions have been good and thorough,
execpt one thing that should be added is what to do if you have to restart
your computer. While editing fstab my computer froze, and when I
ctrl-alt-deleted i wasnt sure exactly where to start from. I think I am good
now, but my /boot/ was empty even though I had copyed the bzImage file to it
prior to reboot. It would be helpful for someone to note what should be done
in the instructions -- like if the computer reboots is it necessary to
bootstrap again?

There are no stupid questions, just a lot of inquisitive idiots.

Normally you should just be able to boot from the cdrom, run net and
pci-setup, mount your partitions (you may need to fsck them depending on
your fs of choice), chroot, and process from where you left off. This
will vary depending on where you failed.....Remember to mount your toot,
boot, and swap partitions, plus any others.
