I am having an issue finishing an upgrade to 1.4 from 1.1a, simply
because even with 2 GB of free disk space my system cannot finish an
emerge -e world without running out of disk space., between
/usr/portage/distfiles and /var/tmp/portage. Is there a way to force
emerge to clean these out between each package build? And if not can
anyone think of a good way to script something that would accomplish
this. Unfortunately when it breaks, after clearing the space I can't
really start from where I left off since emerge -e world gives me the
same list every time.

All thoughts are welcome....

Thanks!

Sean
