Subject: [gentoo-dev] Optimizing Dependency-handling?
Date: 17 Dec 2002 00:39:04 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87n0n5a607.fsf@foobar.toppoint.de> (raw)
Hey there,
I just started an emerge --update world and I am quite suprised about
the dependency handling of emerge.
There was no possibility to fulfill the DEPEND on perl-5.6.1-r9 of
MakeMaker, so MakeMaker could nt be installed.
But why the hell does emerge deny the whole upgrade then? Shouldn't it
deny only the upgrade of affected packages?
I think we should think about a better dependency handling.
so long...
David
