For those of you not already familiar with this minor project,
http://www.gentoo.org/~mkennedy/emacs-packages.html is the project
page for the (proposed) app-emacs/ portage category. The goal is to
enhance your FSF GNU Emacs experience with dozens of add-on Elisp
packages.

In particular, I'd like feedback on the level of customization I'm
doing within site-start.el. In every case, I am configuring the elisp
package to be ready to use in Emacs (load-library, require, autoload
etc.). ie. You won't have to add anything to your .emacs file.
However, I'm also adding the occasional keybinding where I think it
makes sense.
How do people find this customization? Too much perhaps?

I think the level of customization is just right: you've included
the "basics" that pretty much everyone who uses these packages will
want, without going nuts and adding everything.

Great! Basically, I've tried to package things so that they're
installed and configured how the original author intended them to
be. Seems to have worked out well so far.
Stay tuned for a new snapshot containing almost everything else from
the Emacs Lisp Archive at Ohio State Uni :) (which is about a dozen
new ebuilds).
