Hi all,

I'd assume svg USE flag (enable SVG - Scalable Vector Graphics -
support) could be global. dev-ml/lablgtk and media-gfx/fontforge have
svg USE flag and I'm going to add media-gfx/gimageview with svg USE
flag. net-www/mozilla-firefox and net-www/mozilla also have mozsvg USE
flag, so it makes sense to make svg global. If there is no objection
I'll add it in a few days.

I think it's ok to add it. But the problem is with the definition. The
packages you intend to add support for are about adding librsvg deps,
but mozilla is about adding a non-default internal lib. Those are two
different things. I don't know the quality of the mozilla lib, but given
that it isn't a default option makes me think it isn't as much of a
focus point.

This touches a problem with USE flags, are they tied to an
implementation or are they an umbrella for a specification ? We have
both forms at this point and that adds to the confusion. We should
probably re-evaluate the USE flags setup.

Right. I'm not going to change mozsvg to svg. They are different
things and I also don't know of the stability of mozilla SVG support,
so I'm not pushing svg USE flag to mozilla{,-firefox} (even though we
have per package USE flag system).

No, it isn't. The focus point this time is to form dev-ml/lablgtk:svg,
media-gfx/fontforge:svg and media-gfx/gimageview:svg into global USE
flag. It's up to mozilla herd to revise net-www/mozilla* to use it.
