Good afternoon. Gentoo it is the best. You know it:) the Question. In
potrage there is such remarkable package as asterisk. Its newest
version at present 1.2. X. Several months ago there was a stable new
branch asterisk, with number of version 1.4. X, me interests, whether
inclusion of this version in portage is planned? If yes, when to
expect?

The 1.4 branch isn't stable yet, it's in the beta cycle.
This means it won't hit the tree at least until 1.4.0 (non-beta) is out.

1.4 Branch is in beta stage.

Probably will be first en the voip overlay and then some voip
herd dev will put them in the tree after some testing.

I have some experimental Asterisk 1.4 ebuilds, I wll submit them at the voip
overlay later. You can reach me at #gentoo-voip channel.

http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/voip/browser/trunk


That's where the VOIP herd does their development work. I dunno if they
have 1.4 beta ebuilds but that's where they'll be.
