Not very. It would need proper documentation, however, and at least indications on limitations or consequences of choices. If we were to add a device manager step to the handbook, it would be poor form to focus on just systemd-udev vs eudev. There's mdev and a few other alternatives out there as well, and they deserve at least a mention-in-passing, so people know what all is available in the tree. Otherwise, I agree that when considering eudev, blueness is basically our upstream. Him being a Gentoo dev is coincidental and just allows him to support Gentoo better. As he mentioned, he's upstream to multiple distros, so I see no reason why Gentoo can't be considered downstream while he's working on eudev. - -- Daniel Campbell - Gentoo Developer OpenPGP Key: 0x1EA055D6 @ hkp://keys.gnupg.net fpr: AE03 9064 AE00 053C 270C 1DE4 6F7A 9091 1EA0 55D6 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJWudk9AAoJEAEkDpRQOeFwT4QP/iOlBrMlGzlr9PBhpqtqk/RK DqOfeDs5Oxw5rhKt3WY1CuIZeoIzyXa7ribdfHdpTJ6nuEWYATcwFBLonsmPpo0v 9QvSIXaBOA4QKkVtt9dM3SL2X3JiEKIoPMKdDMfmH4kGYLDtzMLRQWwePx7ii8Gv vTA7ooTaYTkNtPxYaCn5RUymVQM0mOPpK7CF+BmxiOKFo6RezkHSo2lwN3YPUOBb xutm2JtQlKfr7efgWdJ1tb8XHbm1Q0UYP8myoFd3Fu20MBSk1F6KmAVlkniCbAZJ DO9qrvv9Sgcp6XCB+Uy4Zx4OOUz5noZSC3COQ3XOwxw+bSHtjik9NBZU3k2fs5cI Os2QJVNPNBpZHnNFvw4IA6iyLa2FFDIf/2FsqZyrNtt3GipqeR6YQqBHYD8KOXnf 55kQFphOlm5L2KkNe15TPwsNolMJq59RwSdJ0u+5qKX3TgABGvFMWYZZrdQYIZPH /zK1s3wpeBudUPjgXQnok2Q6FD4mT5WHsgBnYxAYmYwd5WMjDz6uDYRVmgFV8RHi qB2H2wjQ1fg/d9W0rFlII/Ml1n/sXjqjc53EGA5Ik3s2uy9WWMHSTxV59pAuplL2 pHIIUu96hJJ9BtkPzQFWSL2+/y6hT+VdZpPAbKJBai/vezax4mq1xJdEbGpeALlt 4emEaPNpHav1iAN/3Wwv =X02j -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
