Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask or if it's in some FAQ I've
missed.
I have an overlay set up here
https://github.com/timboudreau/gentoo
with a number of generally useful things in it (etcd, statsd, flatbuffers,
ebuilds for some fonts available from dafont.com and some X themes). For
my own use I just add
http://timboudreau.com/files/repositories.xml
to my layman.cfg, but I'd prefer to make it part of the official list of
overlays.
Per the instructions there, I sent email to the address listed on
gpo.zugaina.org; after several months, no response; tried tweeting about
with a few hashtags I though might bring it to notice of someone in the
know; no response there either.
Some of these are stable, and I'd be happy to maintain them as official
packages if that's of interest - but probably as I'm new to this list, it's
best to start with just getting the overlay available.
Any pointers on where to look if there's a process for this appreciated!
Thanks,
-Tim

Hi,
I was not able to google instructions, but you need to file a bug,
something like https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=510028
Ask on gentoo-infra IRC channel for more information.
I think we should add instructions to some place on our wiki, where one
can easy google them.
Regards,
Jauhien

Hi Jauhien, Tim,
Having gone though this recently myself and finding the
instructions linked at the bottom of this wiki page;
https://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/userguide.xml I can say the
process is fairly straight forward.
Although, do give them some time to process your request. From
start to finish you must be patient.
Best Regards,
-Christopher Camisa

Once upon a time there where instructions somewhere to send a mail to
overlays@gentoo.org. My first overlay was added this way. For my other
one i send a similar mail like a year ago and am waiting ever since for
some kind of response.
It would be great if there was some kind of info if the procedure
changes. A auto response from this address would be nice. Simply ignore
mail to that address is kind of the worst possible solution.
Regards,
Norman

My overlay was added to layman's repositories list when i filed
bugreport(i was ordinary user that time, heh). Let me see.. Ah, there it
is -
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383255
You can use this as example for your bug report.
But anyway, following instructions, mentioned here recently is a nice
too(IIRC, they are useful especially if you want to host your overlay on
our servers).
