This was fixed long ago. But wait until 1.0_rc4 if you can -- we've
made tons of improvements.

Hello everyone...

Due to classwork and a recent harddrive failure I've been out of the Gentoo
loop for quite sometime. My new harddrive arrives via fedex on monday so
I'm wondering if there a quick and dirty guide to upgrading from
1.0_rc4_pre2 to the current version of portage, etc? Does the latest
version of portage support recursive depedency installation? (Sorry if this
has been answered before. If so can someone tell me the thread name so I
can find it in the archives? I havn't had much luck.)

Thanks in advance...

Achim is currently helping Jerry get something installed, so I would catch
up with both of them and see if you can be part of the "test team". We're
a week or two away from the official 1.0_rc4 release.

Best Regards,

Whoops! Sorry about that. I brain farted and thought this was a
mailinglist control e-mail address. And I'm on the digest, so I hadn't
received my own stupidity sent back to myself yet. Only realized when
Sam pinged me.

Should have just done a websearch to end up at
https://www.gentoo.org/get-involved/mailing-lists/instructions.html

Again. Apologies for the spam.
