Hi all,

This is just a quick announcement to let everyone know that Xorg 1.5.3
and pretty much all X libraries and apps which have been sitting in
~arch for months/years are finally going to go stable, replacing our
old, rusty and busted 1.3 X server.

Arch Teams have received the final package list just this afternoon.

The Upgrade Guide is located at
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/xorg-server-1.5-upgrade-guide.xml

Now, I'm pretty sure there will be a ton of new bugs opened in Bugzilla,
so let me thank in advance bug wranglers who will probably deal with
dozens of dupes.

Thanks to everyone who helped test this release, it saved me a lot of
headaches.

Cheers

Rémi

perhaps you made a typo....
did you meant INPUT_DEVICES="evdev" instead of INPUT_DRIVER="evdev",
isn't it?

bye

The upgrade guide indicates that one should use a .fdi file for the
linuxwacom driver. IIRC, this .fdi file will only allow use of one end
of the tablet's pen at a time. Unless the situation has changed since
mid-February, the only way to get full use of a Wacom tablet is by
specifying four InputDevice sections in xorg.conf.

I extend my apologies if the situation really *has* changed since
February. I don't currently have access to a tablet to double-check.

The FDI file can do _everything_ the xorg.conf can. I'm not saying it's
easy, but it can be done.

Cheers
