You can unmask the flag globally like this:
mkdir -p /etc/portage/profile/
echo -policykit >> /etc/portage/profile/use.mask
Or, you can unmask it for a specific package like this:
echo gnome-base/gnome-session -policykit >>
/etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask
