Hello,
I'm interested in taking over the dev-lang/icc and dev-lang/ifc
maintainer position, if no one is actively working on it, and i see that
portage needs lots of work in this category, and i have worked with my
own ebuilds of ICC to be able to say that its stable enough that we
could have it updated in the tree with the changes needed in a few weeks.

Things I Hope to accomplish as maintainer:

- - make a new system profile, one specific for icc that will shift the
default from gcc to icc for as much of the tree as possible, and would
also turn on the icc use flag which would be only used in cases where a
specific patch is needed for ICC to work (especially for patchs that
would break gcc compiles, but it wouldst hurt to keep the patchs separate)

- - compile a list of packages that will be "black-listed" ones that
absolutely do not work with ICC, on the Gentoo-wiki.org I have already
started to accumulate a list of these such packages, along with some
notes on specific packages that need special circumstances to work (C
FLAGS, ETC)

- - as shown in the Gentoo-wiki.org that a simple bashrc enables
"selective" compiling with icc, this will be hopefully be somehow
integrated into portage, in the native python language, but will serve
as a basis to begin making the whole of the ICC-compiled system work. **
note that bashrc was contributed by another member not me**

I am a student with the summer off so i can spend at least 10 hours a
week on Gentoo duties, if not more. I have skill with C/C++ so its
possible that i can make patchs, although my skill is extremely limited
its a benefit to me

I have followed Gentoo for the past 2 years, ditching all windows about
10 months ago, and only using Gentoo. This is a way i hope to contribute
back to the Gentoo community.

Thanks,
Andrew Muraco
