Subject: [gentoo-dev] Strange cpu idleing!!!
Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2003 18:30:48 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3EF5E7C8.8030000@esoterica.pt> (raw)
Hi.
I am in the process of trying to install gentoo on my
compaq presario 2541 laptop. (BTW, any help on how
to install xfree on it - 2500 series - is welcome).
Imediatly after emerging xfree, I noticed that the fan was
still running very noisely! So I took a look at "top" and I
saw that cpu system was more than 90%!!!
Sorting by CPU usage, the "init" process was about 20 %.
The other next processes were 0%!
I rebooted ant this behaviour stoped.
Any ideas/comments?
Thank you.
Paulo
