Hello,

I'm new here, hope this is the right list for this problem:

I've just started trying out Gentoo by installing 1.4rc1.
I did it in vmware a couple of days ago and it worked fine
(building my own stage 2 and 3)

Today I am trying it (again in vmware but to a real disk)
and the emerge of kde fails whilst building tiff.

I tried all sorts of things but finally found that emerge
tiff works *after* I have done jpeg. Does this mean that
there is a dependancy missing?

Well, my build is still going, X is done, waiting for kde...

[gentoo-dev] Out of date SRC_URI in .ebuild file

I don't know where to send this or if anyone really cares but I noticed
the two SRC_URI's in bzip2-1.0.2-r2.ebuild are out of date and neither of
them resolve.  However if I changed sourceware.cygnus.com to
sourceware.redhat.com then I could get through.
