Nice to another one with this new chipset, i have the asus running SMP. I use the Plug and Play OS setting with no problem. Are you running SMP? If so, disabling MPS 1.4 makes it boot with no special options. ACPI kind of works, but still no event or temperature reading. I run with 2.4.18-pre3-ac2 it seemes to be stable and has support for the chipset.
