I was doing an emerge when my net connection died. It was in the middle of
a download when it stopped downloading. I did ^C to quit, then ran the
emerge command again. It gave me an error saying that I needed to download
a file again because the md5sum was incorrect. It then promptly quit. I
deleted the file then ran emerge again. It didn't complain and proceded to
download the file.

I think it should note that there was a problem with the file, then procede
to either attempt to resume the download or download it again.

Yep, we're aware of this problem and I'll be fixing it before release 1.0.
I'll add it to the dev-wiki. Thanks for reminding me.

Best Regards,

In the meantime, prozilla features download recovery. Emerge prozilla, then
uncomment the FETCHCOMMAND in /etc/make.conf so portage uses prozilla instead
of wget. This has saved me alot
of time when I've lost my dialup connection during large downloads.
