Hi,
It doesn't look like there's an ebuild for xscreensaver... Where
should I put it if I make one? I was thinking either x11-base or
app-misc, since nothing else seems appropriate. Maybe we should make
an x11-apps category?
Pete

Hello,
x11-base gets my vote; x11-apps would end up containing a lot of things,
and I think it is a good thing to have them indexed (as they currently
are) by what they do, not how they appear. Otherwise we would have to
have an console-apps category ;) and some applications can use both...

I agree with tom about x11/console apps. So my vote goes to app-misc.
I'm thinking about removing x11-base and creating a new category that
can keep xfree, qt-embedded and gtk-embedded ( can I get it anywhere?).
I don't know a good name for that right now.

Yes, I think that would be fine :)

Yes, in general that's the policy. Maybe we should add an x11-misc category
for xscreensaver and friends? It would be used for miscellaneous X-related
stuff that doesn't fit well in any other category.

app-misc will be fine. As for the new category, maybe "media-display" (it
would house display servers, direct rendering things like the "embedded" things
that render to the framebuffer device, GGI, etc).
Best Regards,
