See the bug for details, but basically they sort out the broken LDAP detection/usage in what I think is The Right Way(tm). I will shortly also be attaching a new /etc/init.d/autofs, as this currently ignores the settings for automount as specified in /etc/nsswitch.conf. My patched version (well, it's based on the RedHat version) checks the automount entry in nsswitch.conf and can correctly read automount maps from NIS (assuming that this worked before, as I haven't changed that) and also from LDAP.
