In addition it doesn't start anymore (segv somewhere). 30 more days, then it's 
finally gone.

RIP acroread.

The only PDF reader on linux that can properly parse PDF Reference XObjects.

Thou shall be missed.

I'm not sure if it works, but qpdfview is the best alternative that I've
found so far.

I found the Chrome PDF reader (pdfium) to be a somewhat adequate 
replacement. pdfium recently gained the ability to deal with XFA forms, 
which are unsupported by most other PDF readers on Linux.

Alternatively you can use Wine to run the Windows version.
