Subject: [gentoo-dev] A Request for the Website (attn drobbins et al)
Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2002 10:31:51 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <23DFAA462CC6A64487613B0E242D9FF706EB81@mercury.phoenix-interactive.com> (raw)
I was wondering if you guys would be willing to consider adding something to
the website. Possibly this is already being done through bugzilla, but......
It would be good if there was a publically accessible place to submit
requests for ebuilds. The requester could list the package name, the
homepage, and a brief description of what the package is. Newbie ebuilders
like myself could then browse through the list looking for packages that
interest us and then have a go at writing the ebuild.
This could be done through bugzilla, but I think that having to create an
account scares some people off. If it were on the website, some of as a
wiki, it would be trivial to enter requests and browse for fresh meat.
Might help add ebuilds to the growing collection.....
Cheers,
Sean
