I know it is installed sgid by default, but I haven't had any problems using make without sgid for years. And my gentoo box is running fine too without an sgid make. I'm asking it because I like checkinstall (http://checkinstall.izto.org/) to try out programms. And checkinstall doesn't work with a sgid make. So I haven't submit an ebuild for it. Regards, Alexander
