Hi, I spoke with rafaelmartins today, and I have joined him as a co-maintainer for dev-lang/lua. We use it at the office, so I have an interest in taking it forward. My first plan is to find the latest version of Lua and look at the upstream build system to find out what we are doing that they aren't; I see we do quite a lot of patching which I would rather avoid if possible.
