Hi,

When doing automatted committing during stabilization, I recently
started seeing manifest signing fail like this:

gpg: pkglue.c:41: mpi_from_sexp: Assertion `data' failed.
!!! !!! gpg exited with '6' status
!!! Disabled FEATURES='sign'

The curious thing: It works most of the time, but fails sometimes.  I
don't know how to trigger the behaviour.

Any ideas?

Yep. This bug was fixed in =app-crypt/gnupg-2.0.17-r3 so make sure to have 
libgcrypt-1.5.0 installed together with at least that version of gnupg.
