This is your friendly reminder ! Same bat time (typically the 2nd & 4th
Thursdays at 2000 UTC / 1600 EST), same bat channel (#gentoo-council @
irc.freenode.net) !

If you have something you'd wish for us to chat about, maybe even vote
on, let us know! Simply reply to this e-mail for the whole Gentoo dev
list to see.

Keep in mind that every GLEP *re*submission to the council for review
must first be sent to the gentoo-dev mailing list 7 days (minimum)
before being submitted as an agenda item which itself occurs 7 days
before the meeting. Simply put, the gentoo-dev mailing list must be
notified at least 14 days before the meeting itself.

For more info on the Gentoo Council, feel free to browse our homepage:

Here's what I've got so far --

- Approving EAPI=2
  - The eapi-2 branch of pms now has a summary of each EAPI's features
in an appendix, which was a blocker.
  - Portage has all of the features implemented as a "2_preX" EAPI
    (AFAIK), which was another blocker.

- PMS as a draft standard. This is the deadline for these 4
  requirements:
  - There needs to be a PMS lead who is a Gentoo dev [calchan].
Both cardoe & antarus volunteered if this was needed.
  - Document the conflict resolution process that we agreed upon last
    meeting [calchan].
  - Document the patch acceptance process [halcy0n].
  - Create a public mailing list so discussions & patches aren't lost on
    the pms-bugs alias [cardoe].

ferdy's accepted this role.

I've expanded the section in PMS that deals with these areas.

This is bug 237427. No response on it yet.

Please vote on deploying the PROPERTIES variable to the cache [1].
Also, please vote on deploying PROPERTIES=interactive in ebuilds [2].

I might not send an agenda out because this thread was so short and
sweet, and I'm fairly busy.

The additional item I'd like to add before PROPERTIES is whether there's
any need for the council to approve either of these. I don't recall us
approving cache changes in the past -- I think that's been done by the
portage team.

I tend to say we don't need to vote on PROPERTIES in cache, but perhaps
we should on 'interactive' so that global ebuild variables, even without
EAPI changes, are approved by the council.
