This way you also use the latest available without requiring old versions of automake. Note that autotools eclass right now simply requires latest version of both automake and autoconf (as it needs autoconf 2.5 series anyway). Mike, will you update autotools eclass as well, to accept WANT_AUTO* before inherit line?
