I just had somebody ask me about whether or not we still needed LDAP
help. It's a good question, and I didn't know the answer, which is
rather embarrassing since I'm the one who filed the LDAP staffing
request. Since then I believe that lcars had taken LDAP over, or is
otherwise assisting robbat2 (or the LDAP team, if we have one now). In
any event, I doubt that I'm the only irresponsible dev who's added an
entry to the staffing-needs page and forgot about it, so perhaps we need
to have items expire unless explicitly renewed? Thoughts?

-g2boojum-

PS. Does anybody know if we do still need people to help w/ LDAP?

I think this is a good idea. We have some items on there that are years
old, and it would be good to even update the requested date on them so
that people know the requests are still valid.

Depends if you consider "rewriting a LDAP howto" as a "help with LDAP"
[1] :). Actually as I'm doing LDAP at work ATM, I might look at it
later, but if anyone want to contribute, they're always more than welcome.

I wouldn't call us a full team, just a small group of folk that have a mail
alias (ldap-bugs), and try to handle bugs for LDAP. [robbat2, jokey, strerror].
I agree the LDAP docs need to be re-written, but that's a large undertaking.

I'm in favour of having expiry dates for requests yes.
And somebody can change my request for app-backup staff down a priority level
thanks.

nope, lcars is not on the ldap team, though he was doing some dox.

I'd say ldap is fine right now. I think we've got most of the big issues
out of the way and I'm happy to update whatever documentation people
think needs updating if someone would point me at the current versions.

I'd say we're fine now.
