Hello,
I have decided to use app-cdr/dvdrtools rather than
app-cdr/cdrecord-prodvd to burn my DVDs because app-cdr/dvdrtools comes
with a GPL2 license. However, the last stable version in portage is
0.1.6 and this version can't use ATA devices without SCSI emulation
contrary to the 0.2.1 version. This is an emptiness facing
app-cdr/cdrecord-prodvd. And it seems that dvdrtools-0.2.1 can be marked
stable (there has been no bugs for a month) but nothing seems to move.
That's right, I wasn't test dvdrtools-0.2.1 but I would like to know if
something could change?

Thanks,
Grégoire Baron

Stabilization requests should go to http://bugs.gentoo.org/

there's already a bug open in bugzilla about this ... no point in posting to
the mailing list as well

I've not been able to move my dvd burner from my server over to my
development box yet so I have not been able to look at it yet. (the
joys of moving hardware between machines :-P when both need it. Well
hopefully not much longer as I'll be replacing the server after this
new jobs paycheck. Anyways as stated in the below bug there is a issue
for some with this and I haven't had the oppertunity to see if I can
replicate it and get a proper backtrace to metalgod. I'll try to get
to that as soon as I possibly can, hopefully this weekend as the
request has been with us for a while.
