GTK-based LDAP client. This thing has no maintainer, is broken and dead
upstream (unmaintained, last release 2+ ago).

If anyone still wants to keep it in portage, see
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122336 for the outstanding issues.

Otherwise, I suggest to p.mask this in two weeks and then remove from
portage.

Not that I would know... Anyway, nls can be fixed by using sys-devel/gettext
instead of the crappy bundled implementation it seems, you can work around
the distcc issue using CC=$(tc-getCC) or something like that, the deps are a
trivial thing to fix. However, kerberos issues seem non-trivial, and there's
also a problem that this thing refuses to save preferences completely (Bug
76057), which is kinda annoying. :P

Honestly, not worth wasting time IMO, this stuff is really abandonware with
non-existent upstream.

There's a bug for LAT -- http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86854 --
but the current assignee apparently doesn't want it.

I don't think it makes huge sense to keep it, even if it worked for me
for the last three years or so. Unmaintained stuff sucks if it's broken.

For those looking for alternatives, net-nds/ldapvi is a good one.

Please don't send these emails out unless you have had someone already
mask it for you, otherwise it will probably go unnoticed for quite some
time.

I masked this.  If anyone wants to keep it in the tree, step up and fix
the bugs.  It will be gone in 4 weeks.
