I've p.masked media-sound/daapd and it's pending removal in a week from now if nobody says anything. The reason of this is that it seems to cause crashes in iTunes 6 clients (see bug #109490), and it's dead upstream. Instead of this, you can use mt-daapd that is actively maintained by upstream, and seems to work just fine with new version of iTunes clients. Note: the big drawback of mt-daapd not being able to cross different filesystem bounds can be worked around using more than one mt-daapd service. Next version (0.3.0) will anyway fix that definitively. -- Diego "Flameeyes" Pettenò - http://dev.gentoo.org/~flameeyes/ Gentoo/ALT lead, Gentoo/FreeBSD, Video, AMD64, Sound, PAM, KDE
