As the subject says, another package that's flying away.

media-tv/xawdecode was superseded by media-tv/xdtv (same code, different name,
upstream renamed it).
Two weeks from now I'll remove media-tv/xawdecode from tree, if nobody is
going to disagree, I'm masking it now for this.

Every user of xawdecode can cleanly migrate to xdtv as it's basically the same
codeline upgraded.

~sparc keyword is going away, was added probably by mistake before, and sparc
team is aware of that.

Just curious, but why didn't you just use a package move?

I meant when they changed the name, why not just do a package move to
the new name? Nevermind. I must be being dense again.

Because it got into portage as a completely new package, as it was a new major
version, and I avoided porting the old xawdecode-* ebuilds to xdtv-* ebuilds
setting PN for them, as one could have had the two package installed at the
same time without troubles.

And now, it's no more the change to do the move (as one can have both
instaslled).
