The short version of it is that there is no good reason to be using=20 has_version/portageq in the global scope; it's slow, it's not allowed,=20 and any attempts to change metadata via it screw up the build plan. =20 It's really a no go... so next version of portage will trigger an=20 immediate die whenever portageq is called in the global scope. Won't=20 be possible to pull it off globally, in other words. The logic for this comes down to the reasons raised above; mainly,=20 it's a snake in the grass for bugs. Those affected by it I've filed bugs against (check your email iow);=20 in the meantime, giving people a heads up on this one. ~harring --oyqLL/JqMvClXZi1 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDOiMFvdBxRoA3VU0RAk2LAKCBdyOTJq9Y0HYBcKxpJbgEMR/XsgCg0nUk YIDN46a/5WbgzvJpdJIi0Ig= =0VgN -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --oyqLL/JqMvClXZi1-- -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
