Exactly the point. And I follow this request. If that was the case, publib = and=20 libiconv would have been removed from the tree a lot of time ago, while the= y=20 are now maintained by BSD herd and by me, as they are useful for portabilit= y. Unfortunately, seems like Ciaran thinks that removing them is the only way = to=20 go, also if they can be perfect and just be unmaintained, because ebuilds=20 risk to not pass future repoman tests and needs to be qa-checked from time = to=20 time, adding more work. Well that's why we have a QA team, isn't it? For most of the changes in=20 repoman check is possible to run a whole-tree check and then who propose th= e=20 change can take care of fixing the unmaintained parts, like I did for=20 enewuser/cp-a/chown root:root bugs. =2D-=20 Diego "Flameeyes" Petten=F2 Gentoo Developer - http://dev.gentoo.org/~flameeyes/ (Gentoo/FreeBSD, Video, Gentoo/AMD64, Sound, PAM) --nextPart1633196.DkNqLFeqON Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBDIajme2h1+2mHVWMRAkpWAJ957YJgpJOjNnBcJa0zy9hRusuNJgCcDRwS dlJkVSunH0CT3sozVDuym9c= =kpBm -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart1633196.DkNqLFeqON-- -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
