Have you had a look at the ebuilds currently assigned to maintainer-wanted? I count maybe three dozen out of six hundred that pass basic QA checks. The tree is already full of crap, do you want to lower the bar even further? Face it, ebuild writing is *not* an easy job, and getting as many things into the tree as possible is a stupid goal. I'd rather see a tree half the size that was properly maintained than a huge and unusable tree. Or would you like to trust anyone who can stick their hand in the air with root access to your box? Because that's what you're proposing. --=20 Ciaran McCreesh : Gentoo Developer (Vim, Shell tools, Fluxbox, Cron) Mail : ciaranm at gentoo.org Web : http://dev.gentoo.org/~ciaranm --Signature_Wed__31_Aug_2005_22_22_24_+0100_qOKcScHxLs09yZiX Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDFh+S96zL6DUtXhERAmuEAKC8GPRUlQ7vIVb05RkJXoB8DlvnxACdEoJt 1sWkQjv6fyRaX434BYB5mSc= =Ml7V -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Signature_Wed__31_Aug_2005_22_22_24_+0100_qOKcScHxLs09yZiX-- -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
