Subject: [gentoo-dev] How deprecated is /usr/X11R6?
Date: Tue, 26 Apr 2005 18:11:01 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20050426181101.309eac62@eusebe> (raw)
Hi,
Currently, whereas the stable (but on arm) xorg-x11 installs in
"/usr", there are still a lot of other ebuilds using the old
"/usr/X11R6" prefix. Some commands to find them:
# grep -l /usr/X11R6 /usr/lib/*.la
# find /var/db/pkg/ -mindepth 2 -type d -exec grep -q /usr/X11R6 \
{}/CONTENTS \; -printf '%P\n'
Sure, this packages work just fine thanks to the "/usr/X11R6 ->
../usr" symlink, so there is no real issue with that. But i was
wondering whether the long term goal is to get ride of this
symlink, and if so, whether it was time to start reporting/fixing
them. In short, would enhancement bugreports about them be ok or
invalid?
Thanks,
