All,

I'll be destroying alevt, a teletext viewer unless anyone objects.
Hasn't been updated that much and It doesn't look like something I'd
maintain, so I won't. To top it off it takes me back to the old days
and makes me want to dial up to a bbs! arggg! So speak or forever hold
your peace... 24 hour deadline.

I object. I use the program from time to time and there don't seem to be
serious open bugs for it.

Perhaps it just hasn't been updated because it simply does what it's
intended to do? :-)

And, please correct me if I'm wrong, it is the only teletext viewer in
portage.

Is there any special reason why you want to get rid of it?

Just wondering,

Patrick

Not exactly: there is also a slightly modified version of
alevt included in media-tv/xawdecode (it can be launched by
pressing Ctrl+A while running xawdecode). But if you don't use
xawdecode for watching tv, then this is probably not the ideal
option for you.

Hello :)

As a normal reader I probably can object as much as I want and noone
cares, but I want to object, too :) alevt fits my needs of viewing
teletext while watching TV with tvtime, so why drop a perfectly working
package, it doesn't even create any work for you because there seem to
be no updates (not that the ebuild is very big :)
